Immunocal: The new medical marvel!

           Medicare and Medicaid

Concerning Medicare and Medicaid:

Medicare in all 50 states covers Immunocal or other nutritional products that are on their formulary when they are prescribed in a tube feeding situation.  Medicaid is both state and federally funded so each state determines how or if they will cover nutritionals when prescribed, please see attached for a state breakdown.

In all instances whether Medicare or Medicaid it must be prescribed and taken to a pharmacy to be filled.  They in turn if it is covered will order it from their national wholesalers.  These wholesalers get the product from our separate medical division that supplies it to them or to the pharmacy which ever the case may be.  Everything to do with Medicare and Medicaid is handled in our separate medical division because of it being federal and state reimbursement money which also follows guidelines of anti-kick back statues.  This is so multiple people (such is the case in network marketing) or even doctors indirectly if they were in the network don’t benefit from the writing of prescriptions.

When it comes to private insurance I always encourage individuals to contact their insurance company and explain their doctor has recommended or prescribed this for (whatever condition you have, be it cancer, etc.) and ask whether they would cover it.  If they say yes, then you would submit it the same way you do anything that is paid out of pocket and submit accordingly to your insurance company.  You will need the invoice that comes in your box for proof of what you paid, in regards to any form of reimbursement that would be paid back to you from your insurance company.  Obviously, private insurance if used would be what you paid for the product when purchased through the network.

Sincerely,
